One of the “Historic Houses of Ireland”

The estate at Solsborough - once seized
by Oliver Cromwell - oozes history, from
the ancient stone walls to trees that
have stood here for hundreds of years.

The main house was built in the 1700s and was one of Ireland’s historically important “Big Houses”. Its story tracks fortunes made and lost and it fell into ruin in the 1900s. Trees and ivy grew within, more like a secret garden than a home.

Over half a century later a restoration project began and life was breathed back into Solsborough. Original features were saved while state-of-the-art technology was installed - wine is stored in the original cellars, yet the showers have oodles
of hot water.

Today, Solsborough stands proud and magnificent again as it begins its latest chapter.
